How old are you?
23 as of January. I just finished my fourth year of college. My major is Digital Arts and Sciences through the college of engineering. How long have you been drawing?
Well, I've been drawing since I was little, but I started out drawing animals and other cartoon characters. I had myself convinced that I couldn't draw people until I started drawing anime about six years ago. What do you use to draw?
I've learned how to use several different things while I've been drawing anime. At first I just used a mechanical pencil. I much prefer the kind with .9mm lead, because it doesn't break as easily as .5mm and it's heavier. You can also actually make the lead sharp so you can outline like it was a smaller pencil lead. Now I use both .5mm and .9mm off and on, depending on which pencil I've lost most recently. ^_^;;To ink I use an extra fine Pilot Vball or Sakura micron pens. When I colored things in colored pencil I always outlined them with the Pilot Vball. And then I outlined it again after I colored it. After it dries it doesn't smear to my knowledge, and on top of waxy colored pencil that's definitely a plus.Prismacolor pencils are super nice quality, and very smooth to use. I really like them for hand colored media. It takes a lot of patience to get the look you want sometimes. I also have recently started using Prismacolor markers and Copic markers. On marker paper I think they blend TOO easily, but on bristol they are perfect. Check out the centaur commission for an example of Copic coloring.Other than those, I use Photoshop CS and Painter 9. I've learned how to use both of them last year or so and I'm still learning how to manipulate all the tools. I haven't used Illustrator or Open Canvas at all, but I think I would like to learn eventually. That's colored pencil? How do you make it look like that?
I color REALLY hard. I tend to go for the cel style for some reason, so it's easy for me to think that way and just aim for what I'm thinking. Can I use your art on my site?
Yeah, I suppose so. I'd rather you stick to fanart. I've only had one run-in with a dishonest person claiming their art as mine. But I fully expect a link back to my page, and for you to give me full credit. I also expect that you give me the link to your site so I can check up on it.Can I request a drawing?
Well, you can, but in the form of commission, meaning you'll have to pay me. Even for the buddy icons now. I have a bunch of requests from long ago, and one day I may fulfill them. So if you sent me a mail, I got it, but I may have not replied since payment was not mentioned. Oh, also I'm changing my email and not checking the animenut.com one anymore.Do you accept gift art?
Absolutely!! I may be interested in art trades as well, depending on how much time I have.Email me if you like. I always try to reply to guestbook entries and friendly emails^_^
