About Rei

Rei is Takmet's sister. Technically she's his half-sister. One would think that genies wouldn't really reproduce, but these beings fall in and out of love as well, so anything is possible. The whole story is told in Takmet's section, so go read about how Rei got a little half-brother.
Rei is actually very young in genie age. Three hundred years old for a genie's life span would probably equate to 11 years old if we say the average life-span of women these days is 75. Not very old at all. This is a big reason why she can't accomplish more complicated tasks, such as breaking the ties of the spell to Sasaki's life energy.
She has a playful personality but she can be very serious at times. She cares very much for her brother and wants him to be happy. Rei also has a close friendship with Hotep. Nothing serious mind you! She just identifies with him because he has a similar personality. Rei also enjoys the company of the future girls. Having never time-travelled herself, she's interested in the world that they came from. Later on the girls tell her all she wants to know. Sasaki holds a certain respect in Rei's eyes. Rei knew from the beginning who Sasaki was and what part she would play in the future of Egypt. Her brother, though, she did not know about.
