About Mandi

Mandi is a high school student in the same grade as Sasaki and Chloe. She pretty much only went on the feild trip to Egypt because Sasaki was going. Mandi's the more responsible teenager. She watches out for Sasaki because whenever she goes on a field trip she gets into trouble. Mandi always points out the logic and reason behind certain decisions and reminds her friends of the consequences of their actions. This serious personality probably comes from her parents who are both successful in business and from her sour relationship with a crumby boyfriend.
Mandi had a bad relationship a year before the feild trip, so she feels a strong urge to protect her friends from being hurt by men. She has scars on her back from her idiot boyfriend. He apprently had gotten violent pretty quickly and Mandi had seen no signs of his violence beforehand. It came as quite a shock. There are only a total of two or three mentions of Mandi's bad raltionship throughout the whole story.
Yes, Mandi dies in the story, but the people who die in the past that belong to the present time are replaced by Sasaki's power. So, Mandi technically lives, but she has no memory of her time in Egypt. It was as if Sasaki never existed. Chloe and Ami live and retain their, so they are confused as to why Mandi doesn't remember any of what had happened in Egypt. Sasaki erased her memory because she thought that Mandi would have it easier if she wasn't worrying about a friend in a foreign place and time.
